Lavon Scanlan is Kim Bogart's mother, and her collection of work is being preserved in her new location, Florida. get to know a bit more about who she is, what her art is about and where to purchase a piece for your home and art collection.
About Lavon
A life of inspiration
Lavon began painting in her life shortly after moving to Norman, Oklahoma with her family in 1960. Her work heavily features natural themes although includes multiple examples of Portraits and still life.
Lavon has always lived a life of inspiration that effects her surroundings. She helped start an art festival in her community, taught puppetry to children and female inmates, and remained involved in the local art scene through support of museums, collectives and the now legendary FireHouse Art studio in Norman.
Lavon has enjoyed years of travel with her friends in the art community and much of her work focuses on the various landscapes and people she encountered along the way.
