It all began when our founder, Kim Bogart, recognized the need to have her mother, Lavon, closer. Lavon Scanlan, a highly skilled and cherished artist, moved her collection of artwork with her daughter, Kim, in Florida. Seeing the potential of combining her passion for creating positive change and her mother's art, Kim envisioned a way to make a tangible impact on lives. This vision gave birth to Arts with A Purpose, driven by a mission to harness art's transformative potential to support education, nutrition, and creativity for children facing challenging circumstances."

With over 30 years of experience empowering and mobilizing volunteers and staff to serve vulnerable children, and armed with a degree in education, she's witnessed the profound impact that education and art can have on young lives.
